fut0006 - How to composite 2D elements in 2D image

In this tutorial, you will composite 2d text and image. Figure 1 shows the final output of the composition.

The following steps are required to complete this tutorial:

1.
Download the fut0006.rar from the following link: http://www.mediafire.com/download/ldyolg8xc9ivqo9/fut006.rar

2. Extract contents of the zipped file to the folder of your choice on the disk.

3.   Choose the LD button from the toolbar; the Open File dialog box is displayed. Navigate to the folder where you have saved the downloaded file and then select letter box.jpg. Next, choose the Open button. 

4.  Press 1; the output of the Loader1 tool is displayed in the left Display View. Next, choose the Fit button from the right Display View toolbar to fit the image into the Display View.

5.  Choose the BC button on the toolbar; the BrightnessContrast1 tool tile is inserted in Flow area.

6.  Press 1; the output of the BrightnessContrast1 tool is displayed in the left Display View. 

7.  In the BrightnessContrast1 tool control window, set the values of the parameters as follows:

    Gain: 0.9                   Lift: -0.05                          Gamma: 0.9                           Saturation: 1.21
    Low: 0.11                 Gamma: 0.86

8.  Choose the Txt button from the toolbar; the Text1 tool is inserted in the Flow area. 

9.  Click on the red output of the BrightnessContrast1 tool to the red output of the Text1 tool; the Merge1 tool is inserted in the Flow area. Press 1; the output of the Merge1 tool is displayed in the left Display View. 

10.  In the Text tab of the Text1 tool control window, select the Underline check box and set the values of the parameters as follows:

       Size: 0.09             Font: BankGothic Lt BT        Styled Text: CADCIM Technologies

11.   In the Shading tab of the Text1 tool control window, choose the 3 button. Next, select the Enabled check box.

12.  In the Shading tab of the Text1 tool control window, enter 25 in the Priority Back edit box.

13.  Make sure Text1 tool is selected in the Flow area and choose Tools > Transform > DVE from the menubar; the DVE1 tool is inserted in the Flow area.

14.  In the DVE1 tool control window,  set the values of the parameters as follows:

      Center 
      X: 0.48                   Y: 0.5

     Rotation Order: YZX

    Y Rotation: -26.66

15.  In the Merge1 tool control window, set the values of the parameters as follows:

     Center 
      X: 0.4                     Y: 0.47                 Size: 0.3                  Apply Mode: Luminosity

      The output of the composition is shown in Figure 2.

16.  Choose the BG button from the toolbar; the Background1 tool  is inserted in the Flow area. Next, choose Rct button in the toolbar; the Rectangle1 tool is inserted and connected in the Flow area. 

17. Choose Tools > Transform > DVE from the menubar; the DVE2 tool is inserted in Flow area. In DVE2 tool control window, set the values of the following parameters:

Z Move: 1.36                        Z Pivot: 0.21

Rotation Order: YZX

X Rotation: 5.71                   Y Rotation: -21                              Perspective: 0.7

18.   Click on the red output of the Merge1 tool to the red output of the DVE1 tool; the Merge2 tool is inserted in the Flow area. Press 1; the output of the Merge2 tool is displayed in the left Display View. 

19.    In the Merge2 tool control window, set the values of the parameters as follows:

     Center 
      X: 0.35                        Y: 0.23

     Size: 0.22

      The output of the composition is shown in Figure 3.

20.  Choose the LD button from the toolbar; the Open File dialog box is displayed. Navigate to the folder where you have saved the downloaded file and then select letter.tga. Next, choose the Open button. The Loader1 tool tile is inserted in the Flow area.
21. Make sure the Loader2 tool tile in selected in the Flow area and then choose the Tools > Transform > DVE from the toolbar; the DVE2 tool tile is inserted and connected to the Flow area.

22. In the DVE2 tool control window, set the values of the parameters as follows:

   Z Move: 1.36

   Z Pivot:  0.21
   X Rotation: 5.71                   Y Rotation: -20.1                              Perspective: 0.78

23. Click on the red output of the Merge1 tool to the red output of the DVE2 tool; the Merge3 tool is inserted in the Flow area. Press 1; the output of the Merge3 tool is displayed in the left Display View. 

24. In the Merge2 tool control window, set the values of the parameters as follows:

     Center 
      X: 0.34                             Y: 0.22

     Size: 1.25

 The final output of the composition is shown in Figure 4.

fut0005 - How to change the color of an element in an image

Tutorial 3 of Chapter 7 (Color Tools) from The eyeon Fusion 6.3 book:

In this tutorial, you will change the color of an element in the image by using the Hue Curves tool. The final output of the composition is shown in Figure 1.

The following steps are required to complete this tutorial:

1. Open the following link: http://www.sxc.hu/photo/1149337; an image is displayed. 


2. Download the image on your hard drive and then rename it as t-shirt.jpg.

3. Choose the LD button from the toolbar; the Open File dialog box is displayed. Navigate to the folder where you have saved the downloaded file and then select t-shirt.jpg. Next, choose the Open button.

4.  Press 1; the output of the Loader1 tool is displayed in the left Display View.

5. Choose the Fit button from the left Display View toolbar to fit the image into the Display View, refer to Figure 2.

6.  Make sure the Loader1 tool tile is selected in the Flow area and then choose the Rsz button from the toolbar; the Resize1 tool is inserted in the Flow area and a connection between the Resize1 and Loader1 tools is established.

7. Press 1; the output of the Resize1 tool is displayed in the left Display View.

8. In the Resize1 tool control window, select the Keep Frame Aspect check box.

9.  Select the Resize1 tool tile from the Flow area and then choose the HCv button from the toolbar; the HueCurves1 tool is inserted in the Flow area and a connection between the Resize1 and HueCurves1 tools is established.

10. Press 2; the output of the HueCurves1 tool is displayed in the right Display View. Next, choose the Fit button from the right Display View toolbar to fit the image into the Display View.

The HueCurves1 tool is used to adjust the color of an image by using multiple spline curves. These curves control the hue, saturation, luminance, and color channels of an image. You an also suppress the color channels by using these curves.

Next, you will change the color of the t-shirt in the image.

11. In the HueCurves1 tool control window, clear the Sat check box and then select the Hue and Blue check boxes.

12. Adjust the shape of the spline,  refer to Figure 3. After adjusting the shape, the output of the HueCurves1 tool is displayed, refer to Figure 4.

fut0004 - How to create moving water effect in eyeon Fusion

Tutorial 5 of Chapter 5 (Color Tools) from The eyeon Fusion 6.3 book:

In this tutorial you will create an effect of moving water by using Displace and FastNoise tools. Figure 1 shows the final output of the composition.

The following steps are required to complete this tutorial:

1. Open the following link: http://www.sxc.hu/photo/1308135; an image is displayed. Download this image to your hard drive and rename it as bridge.jpg.

2. Choose the LD button from the toolbar; the Open File dialog box is displayed. Navigate to the folder where you have saved the downloaded file and then select bridge.jpg. Next, choose the Open button. 


3.  Press 1; the output of the Loader1 tool is displayed in the left Display View. Next, choose the Fit button from the left Display View toolbar to fit the image into the left Display View.

4.  Select the Loader1 tool tile from the Flow area. Next, choose Tools > Transform > Resize from the menubar; the Resize1 tool is inserted in the Flow area.

5.  Choose Tools > Creator > FastNoise from the menubar; the FastNoise1 tool is inserted in the Flow area.


6.  Press 2; the output of the FastNoise1 tool is displayed in the right Display View.

7.  In the control window of the FastNoise1 tool, animate Center X and Center Y controls to create keyframes by using the values given next.

8. In the FastNoise1 tool control window, set the values of the parameters as follows:


Noise tab

Scale: 20               Seethe Rate: 0.2

Image tab

Width: 720             Height: 540

9.  Choose the Show Checker Overlay button from the right Display View toolbar to disable the transparency in the Display View. The output of the FastNoise1 tool is shown in Figure 2.

10.  Select the Resize1 tool tile from the Flow area. Next, choose Tools > Warp > Displace from the menubar; the Displace1 tool is inserted in the Flow area and a connection between the Resize1 and Displace1 tools is established.


11. Press 1; the output of the Displace1 tool is displayed in the left Display View.


12. Click on the red output node of the FastNoise1 tool and then drag the cursor to the green node of the Displace1 tool in the Flow area.

13. Select the Displace1 tool tile from the Flow area. Then, choose the Add a Polyline Mask button from the left Display View toolbar; the Polygon1 tool is inserted in the Flow area and a connection between the Displace1 and Polygon1 tools is established, as shown in Figure 3.

14. Draw the polyline shape in the left Display View, as shown in Figure 4.

15.   Select Displace1 tool tile in the Flow area and enter 0.025 in the Refraction Strength edit box of the Displace1 tool control window. Higher the value of the Refraction Strength parameter, greater will be the displacement effect.

The final output of the composition is shown in Figure 5.
